NEW! AGT Buddy Family Program

The Buddy Family Program introduces new ACE & LEAP families to CFBISD's Gifted & Talented Community. Through AGT's Buddy Family Program, your family will be introduced to an existing family who is familiar with the district. Your Buddy Family may also share similar interests, needs, goals, and challenges of raising gifted children. Existing ACE/LEAP families are asked to volunteer as a Buddy Family to welcome and introduce a New Family to the community, share information, and meet-up at school and district events. If interested in volunteering as a Buddy Family or signing up as a New Family, please fill out the following form.

General Meetings

C-FB AGT holds approximately 3-4 general meetings per school year to keep our members engaged and involved. Most meetings are held in conjunction with other events in an effort to draw a large percentage of our member base.

'Gifted Talk' Series with Kathryn

Presented by C-FB Advanced Academic Services Executive Director, Dr. Kathryn Pabst Schaeffer, these "talks" are informative and right on time. Parents may attend in person or via phone conference. View the 2016-2017 Schedule

Speaker events focused on topics that matter to you!

In partnership with C-FB Advanced Academic Services, as part of our ongoing speaker series, C-FB AGT is dedicated to bring to you topical, motivating and informative individuals what can speak from the heart about Giftedness. Speaker events are targeted presentations and/or panel discussions for parents and non-parent members alike.

Annual Symposium

Presented by the C-FB Association for the Gifted and Talented and the C-FB ISD Department of Advanced Academic Services (AAS). Symposium offers parents, caregivers teachers and children a day of enrichment.

Parents attend keynote address and breakout sessions while students (grades K-8) are engaged in hands-on learning experiences.

AGT Family Nights & Kid's Programs

We love our AGT families! Join us for one or both of our annual Family Nights.

Going Bonkers Fundraising Event. Our evening meet-and-greet/membership drive allows AGT families to meet, connect and have tons of fun all while keeping the kids occupied. And the added bonus, Going Bonkers-Lewisville donates a portion of the evening's admission fees to the C-FB AGT!

Robotics Camp. A fun robotics camp led by the DeWitt Perry Middle School Robotics club. Students work in teams to build and program LEGO robots.

Family Game Night. Bring the whole family and compete in many fun games and activities. Play our games or bring your own!

Scholarship Awards

C-FB AGT awards a limited number of scholarships to Carrollton-Farmers Branch G/T identified students for Summer programs and College and University bound high school seniors. This is made possible through the generous donations of members and friends who support gifted education and our organization.

Each student must write a paragraph, in their own handwriting, indicating why he or she wishes to attend their chosen program and/or school. In addition, two (2) teacher recommendations are required in the application.

Students can choose from a variety of academic, leadership and fine arts programs. Scholarship awards will be paid upon completion of the program after providing proof of attendance and receipt of payment.

For additional information on awards & scholarships, please contact scholarships@cfbgifted.org.

Swan Award

Years ago, the AGT recognized and chose the swan as a symbol of honor. The swan is not only graceful, as we think of it swimming effortlessly on a pond or gliding on the wind, it is also strong and loyal. It is a symbol of beauty and grace that giftedness inspires. We think of the strength and loyalty that must be shared in order to support gifted education. So, the Swan is the ideal symbol for this award.

Each year the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Association for the Gifted and Talented strives to honor a person, or persons, who have made significant contributions in the area of gifted education. The nominee may be anyone involved in some way with the Gifted and Talented program, parents, educators, or community members.
