Members of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Association for the Gifted and Talented are invited and encouraged to take a leadership role in our organization. If you would like to chair a committee, please contact: info@cfbgifted.org or any current board member for more information.
The board of directors typically meet prior to the start of school and approximately every two months throughout the school year. Meetings are scheduled when the majority of members can attend. Meetings usually take no more than a few hours.
Please view the current C-FB AGT standing committees and chair vacancies here.
The President is one of four positions elected by the entire organization membership. The role of the President is to preside over the Board meetings and represent the organization within the school district. The President often performs a strategic leadership role in the organization, coordinating many of the activities and helping to facilitate the organizational plans.
The Vice President is also elected by the membership. The Vice President fills in for the President whenever they are unavailable to execute their duties. The Vice President facilitates the tactical execution within C-FB AGT, developing partnerships within our district and other Region 10 organizations.
The Treasurer controls all financial transactions, from developing an initial budget to tabulating actual expenses. The Treasurer oversees the organization's banking, donations and expenditures. The Treasurer initiates an annual financial audit at the close of the school year. The audit is conducted by an independent panel of three (3) committe chairpersons.
The Secretary maintains the board meeting minutes and notes, along with other required correspondence, at the discretion of the President and Vice President.
